EdgeNotes

Privacy Policy

Last updated 22 September 2026

EdgeNotes collects no data. It runs entirely on your Mac. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server. Sable Creek Software LLC does not receive your notes, your usage, or any information about you.

What the app stores

Your notes are kept in a database inside the app's sandbox container on your Mac. The title and text of every note are encrypted with AES-GCM before they are written to disk, and the encryption key is held in your macOS Keychain on that Mac only. Your settings, such as deck position, colors and fonts, are stored in the app's own preferences on your Mac.

Network

EdgeNotes makes no network connections of any kind. It contains no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising, or third-party code. If you click a web address you typed into a note, your default browser opens it; that request comes from your browser, not from EdgeNotes.

Files

The app can only read and write files you choose yourself in a save or open panel, when you export notes or import an archive. It cannot see anything else on your Mac.

Permissions

EdgeNotes does not request Accessibility, Input Monitoring, Screen Recording, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, photos, or location access.

Deleting your data

Deleting a note removes it from the database. Deleting the app and its container removes everything it stored. You can export all your notes at any time before doing so.

Children

EdgeNotes is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
